World Cup 4-cross, Maribor

Maribor, Slovenia was this weekend's host of World Cup round number #5.

After a couple of hot day's the weather changed on race day. The sky opened up and it rained unti about one hour before practice. The track had turned in to little river down the hill! My practice still went well and I was enjoying the muddy conditions. This track had turned out to be 100% mountainbiking.... I slipped and slide my way into the final, in the final my gate was good. Jill went wide in the first corner and I took the inside, I was able to just get next to her, but she had the inside in the second corner..... we both had nowhere to go and so we were rubbing elbows, I went over the berm and crashed, Jill also went down and so we both had to get back on the bikes. Meanwhile Caroline Buchanan and Melissa Buhl cruised passed us to take first and second place. I was pushing hard to catch up with Jill, I was able to pass her in the flat grass-turns! So I ended up 3rd.

This week I'll spend a day in Asolo, Italy were I will visit the Alpinestars Headquarters. Then the trip goes back to Slovenia were I will be racing the European Championships this upcoming weekend.
