UCI World Cup La Bresse
This weekend round number 3 of the UCI Cross Country World Cup in La Bresse, France was on the program.
This season I am trying to get a taste of the new Eliminator xc sprint event. After a 13th place in Houffalize and a 18th place
in Nove Mesto it was time to step up my game!!
The track in La Bresse suited me well, it was in the town centre with some nice technical features and powerful uphill sprints.
I gave it all I had in qualification and set the fastest time! I knew I had a good run and qualifying fastest gave me a good
confident boost for racing.
The town center of La Bresse was packed with people and it was a great atmosphere. In my first heat, the quarter final I had
a good run and managed to take the win. In the semi-final competition was already tough, but I had a good start and was leading
until half way the course when I got a flat tire jumping down the stairs! That was it, I had a small crash because of that and
was out of the race. Ended up in 6th place.
I got mixed feelings looking back to this race, I know I am up there with the rest of the cross country girls, but I was
so close on getting on to that XCE podium!
Now it's time to get back on my 4-cross bike for the next 4X pro tour in Val di Sole, Italy in 2 weeks.
