Alpinestars Headquarters

On our way from Val di Sole to Maribor, Slovenia we had a chance to stop by the Alpinestars Headquarter in Italy. It was a great opportunity for us to meet the people at the office, who are designing all our clothing. We got a full tour trough all the departments.... shoes, protection, development, leather suits and so on. Every moto GP suite is made by hand in Italy, the same for nascar suits, shoes, gloves.... It is an amazing process to see how they do everything. When somebody crashes at a moto GP they send in the suit right after the race, to Alpinestars and they replace the part of the leather/suit that is damaged, so they don't make a new one but they fix it. Originally Alpinestars started with making a Hiking and Skiing boot, back in the day, when other brands started making ski boots from plastic they decided to continue with making leather boots.... but not for skiing but for Motocross.
I can keep writing about my visit at Alpinestars.... but I got to go and hit my pillow. Tomorrow is the first day of 4-cross practice here in Maribor, Slovenia!!
